time spend on screen is way to much
Status in “notify-osd” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
We need to reduce time, that notification spends on screen, to like 3
seconds, because current time (10 seconds or so) is wayyyy to much...
Also this notify-osd feels broken, it needs configuration tools to change
various parameters like time, also it needs a way to know, if it is a system
notification or a notification from third party program, and a way to disable
notifications at all or part of them(system / third party).
