Drop-down sound menu has no delay

Bug description:
It's seems it is not kind of bug but very nice-to-have feature.
When I'm going to decrease sound level I always face the problem that
Calendar opens.
It happens because mouse cursor goes through the calendar area (see
screenshot in the attachment).
It is a bit annoying.
