You can call it a rant if you like, I call it being angry that Ubuntu is becoming so untenable that I have just backed up over a years worth of data to go find something else to use, I'm sure that I won't be alone in feeling that this breakdown of usability is occurring.
I thought maybe saying something about all the stuff it breaks would maybe make some pause for consideration, but instead I got the "You'll use this incredibly dumbed down/broken stuff and like it" speech that I've become all too accustomed to, so to hell with this. -- Closing or removing indicator-applet does not restore correct GNOME behavior https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346159 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Indicator Applet Developers, which is the registrant for Indicator Applet. Status in Indicator Applet: New Status in “indicator-applet” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: If I remove indicator-applet from the panel or uninstall it entirely, programs that are supposed to have an icon in the system tray simply close. I find the behavior of the applet clunky and incorrect, and think that really there should be a setting somewhere that lets you disable it. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~dx-team Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~dx-team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
