Confirmed it is a duplicate. Sorry, I did do a search but did not find
the match :( I new it was not a kernel bug, just wanted to say I was
running my own compiled kernel :)

Bug description:
I am running the latest Jaunty. The new pop up notifications work fine for all
things but the brightness OSD pop up. When I press the brightness up/down keys
on my laptop the brightness changes and a pop up does appear but it is just a
line (see attached png).
I am running a kernel I have compiled myself to include the PHC patch to allow
undervolting but the bug was there before I did that, I just recently notice
the pop up was atually appearing but is just s small line, before I had assumed
there was no pop up.
