This is a distro-side issue. The needed patch is carried within the UNR
distro and not included within notify-osd trunk.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: notify-osd

On an Acer Aspire One, installed with UNR beta-ish and upgraded to current, I
noticed that notify-osd was not running. At Loic's suggestion, I checked
/usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.freedesktop.Notifications.service and noticed
that $GDMSESSION in my session was set to "default.desktop" while the test is
only for "default":

Exec=/bin/sh -c "if [ ! -x /usr/lib/notification-daemon/notification-daemon ]
|| [ $GDMSESSION = gnome ] || [ $GDMSESSION = default -a $(basename `readlink
/etc/alternatives/x-session-manager`) = gnome-session ]; then exec
/usr/lib/notify-osd/notify-osd; else exec
/usr/lib/notification-daemon/notification-daemon; fi"

I think that test is failing, and so notification-daemon is being run.
