I have been confused since I upgraded to jaunty as to why a "new mail
message" icon shows up when I start pidgin. I don't use the "new mail"
notification functionality in pidgin, so I know I don't have new mail
messages. After doing some digging, it appears as though this is just
the default icon. This is confusing and should be changed.
Most users have used Microsoft Outlook and the assumption is that the
icon of a letter is used to indicate that you have new email messages.
I don't have a suggestion as to what the icon should be, but it should
be something different.
