Stu, The feedback from our users about Windows/XP varies. I never heard about problems when XP was installed as the first system. A number of users reported problems when they upgraded to XP from a previous Windows version (like Win98)
It is my impression that your system fits in the second category. One item you did not mention; does the side-tone for CW work? Both the side tone generator and access to the LPT port use the same low level system routines. The port driver seems to be installed correctly; you did not get an error message about that. It is my impression that MicroSoft does 'funny' stuff during an upgrade resulting in a bad configuration.DX4WIN has no problems that we know about when used with a fresh install of XP. Paul
