I had originally reported ( a few weeks ago and got excellent advice off the reflector) that my CT-17 (CI-V) would not key my IC-765 using DX4WIN. I borrowed a CT-17 and tested with that unit, and it worked. The problem is that my CT-17 no longer works. There is no visible damage to the interior of the CT-17, so I assume that the controller chip is no longer working.
I don't want to spend $100.00 for a new CT-17 and found the CT-17 Cable with Key Option from N9ZLE on the QRZ.COM Swapmeet. It lists for $31.00, including IRC software that provides various rig skins for controlling rigs, including the 765. The cable is powered from the computer port using DTR (set to on or high within DX4WIN, I assume). Does anyone have experience with this product? I have a query in to N9ZLE and am anticipating a positive answer. Plus he gives a money back guarantee, so I'm not concerned about that. I would appreciate any information you may have.
