Guys, thanks for all the input on the serial port keying up under XP Pro. The RTS/DTR lines flip state as the machine boots up and this is what causes it to key the rig. Next time I talk to my Microsoft rep I will bring it up to him and see what kind of reply I get. Thanks for all the input, at least I know I am not the only one this is happening to. Since I was loading all my software after upgrading to XP Pro, I had to reboot a lot and it became very evident that this was happening. We have a lot of PC's out here at work with XP Pro, but none of them have serial devices hooked to them. Most of our systems in our plants for plant floor automation run either 2000 or UnixWare, so I have not noticed it there. Thanks again for all the input.
