Ron, Your 7 hour log error was likely caused by the use of an old version of b2r9.exe in your CT directory (b29r.exe last changed in February 1998).
In the future, use C2A to import CT logs into DX4WIN. The program is available on the CT website. It converts the CT log into ADIF format and DX4Win imports ADIF.
