I am trying to get my newly delivered Orion up and running with DX4WIN and I'm struggling. Is there an Orion user out there who can help me get over the problem?
Paul kindly sent me a copy of his Orion.rig file which I placed in the DX4WIN radios folder. Subsequently the Orion appeared in the drop down list of radios. I selected Orion but found the interface timed out. My first response has been to suspect some kind of hardware, most likely cable, problem but all seems to be fine in that if I load Writelog, I can select the Orion without any problem and mode/frequency data can be happily passed back and forth. Back to DX4WIN and I tried all four combinations of settings for DTR and RTS but in each case I get a radio has timed out message. My Orion is on COM 1 and the port speed is set to 57600 baud. I wonder is there someone out there harbouring the pearl of wisdom I need? Happy Christmas all. Bob, 5B4AGN, P3F
