Mike, Looking at your reply here, may I ask a further question regarding userport. I am also running DX4WIN V6.02 under XP. I have no problem with LPT1, but I also need a second LPT port. I placed a new LPT card in the comp and it fired up OK. Works fine for printing but does not work with ARSWIN or my antenna controller. XP assigns a 4 digit address which is not recognised by these software.
Will userport hep this problem???? 73's de Tony M0DQZ -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of VA3MW - Port Credit Sent: 02 June 2003 02:40 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Problems with v6.02 CW on LPT1 under XP Dave I suspect that you will need to install userport (http://www.embeddedtronics.com/design&ideas.html), as the LPT port is under control of the OS in XP. Several weeks ago I purchased the upgrade to v6.02. I have just now gotten around to installing it on my IBM T600X Laptop running Windows XP. All appears to be fine, however I am not able to use LPT1 for CW Keying as I could with Win 2K. When v6.02 starts I get a dialog box that says: Cannot find LPT1 for keying But XP reports the port to be working correctly. This machine has never had any previous versions of DX4WIN installed on it. I don't know if that makes any difference or not. Any ideas????? Anyone running v6.02 on XP and using the Parallel port for CW? 73, Dave, N1PC _______________________________________________ Dx4win mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win _______________________________________________ Dx4win mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
