I trying to use the CW keying feature in version 5.03 with my IC-706. Unfortunately the logic level from PIN 17 of the DB-25 Parallel Printer Port LPT1 using MS-2000 is inverted. Instead of going "high" the true state actually goes "low". The HELP file states that you need to use an 2N2222 NPN transistor to key the radio. The base-emitter junction is forward biased through 1K resistor connected to pin 17 of the DB-25 LPT1 computer port.
In lieu of adding another transistor to invert the signal back to the correct logic state does anyone know how if the logic for pin 17 can be reversed in software? Does anyone know for sure that its safe to simply use the key the IC-706 directly from pin 17 without going through the transistor switch? v/r terry
