Thank you everybody for the help with information about editing the = radio driver. I have now done some editing and it works to 95%, = completely satisfactory for my needs.
This is the solution suggested which I used: In the radio library of DX4WIN, I made a copy of the file "Yaesu = FT847.RIG" and renamed it to "Yaesy FT897.RIG" I the edited this file using Word Pad as follows and saved it (comments = within "..." are mine and should be deleted in the file): [GENERAL] MODEL=3DYaesu FT897 "New name" NOTES=3DExperimental DATE=3D36536 FLOW=3D 1.00000000000000E+0002 FHIGH=3D 4.70000000000000E+0005 "Upper frequency 470 MHz" BAUD=3D4800 "Default baud rate 4800, radio works also with 9600 = or 38400 without problems" =20 DATAB=3D1 =20 STOPB=3D1 "The radio manual says 2 stop bits, I tested that = with no difference" = =20 . . . . The radio control works now as expexted, the frequency window is OK and = clicking on a spot tunes the radio. I tried the radio "Panorama" function without success and apparently the = program will not interprete the S-meter readings correctly. The radio is = scanning and the frequency in the "Frequency window" show correct = numbers while scanning. One important observation: The radio tuning is set to "Locked" mode by = DX4WIN. If you press the radios button "Lock" you will unlock the radio = and be able to tune it by hand. 73 de Erik/SM0JCA ----- Original Message -----=20 From: "Victor West" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Erik Mellgren" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, February 28, 2003 18:02 Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Help: Yaesu FT-897 CAT control not communicating = with DX4Win I too am waiting for a driver for the FT-897. de Vic, AE5DX ----- Original Message ----- From: "Erik Mellgren" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 27, 2003 4:25 PM Subject: [Dx4win] Help: Yaesu FT-897 CAT control not communicating with DX4Win > DX4WIN has no radio setting for my Yaesu FT-897 rig.
