A couple of days back I had asked about setting up a way to track things like 10-10 numbers and the like. Easiest way is to just do searches on the Note for call field and find what you want.
Well, last night I discovered another great way to track awards. Not sure if it is a neat feature that only a few people use or if it is common, but hear goes. If you look in the online help under custom awards you will find that there is a file that you can put your own awards into. This file is located in the save directory under you dx4win directory. The file is named dx4win.awd It is a simple text file that you can edit with a text editor like Notepad. Each entry gives the layout for awards that you want to track. For me I wanted to find a way to track FIST numbers. I added the following entry to the bottome of the file: [FIST] awdname=Fists CC modes=NYN pictmsk=999999 I won't describe each of the fields because the user guide does a much better job then I can. I will say that the modes are listed as SSB CW FSK so if you have NYN the only mode valid is CW if you put YNY the award is valid for SSB and FSK. The only bummer is you can't input a 10-10 number when 10-10 is selected and then input a FIST number when Fists CC is selected. (Potential feature). -Kent __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Web Hosting - establish your business online http://webhosting.yahoo.com
