The word from the LoTW team says "That's an error in DX4WIN. The ADIF = file has the wrong number of characters listed for the MODE field."
A cure for the error is to open the ADIF file with Windows Wordpad and = find "<mode:4>PSK3" then Replace ALL with <mode:5>PSK31" then save the = file.
