I just went through the same thing. You need to then right click on the spot window and select internet connection. The file dx4win.tcp will pop up a selection to choose from. In my case I wanted to use one that is new, W3LPL, so I added it. This is not a convenient as a TNC though as you need to go through these steps each time you start DX4WIN whereas a TNC will just listed with out any prompting when DX4WIN starts.
