Are you sure the CAT interface in the Yaesu wasn't damaged in the lightning strike? I had a recent strike as well, and the computer was involved. Two buffer transistors in my IC-765 computer interface circuitry were damaged and had to be replaced.

I took the default settings for a Yaesu FT1000MP in the radio settings, but I am not talking to the radio and no CAT light ever blinks. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
