Of course, as soon as I sent the request for help, I realized the solution:
I had substituted <STATE> for <QTH:2> as a column header. In fact, the :2 is necessary so I substituted <STATE:2> for <QTH:2> for each QSO in the ADIF file, and that came over to DX4WIN correctly. Canadian provinces also come over as States, so those need to be manually edited. Garry, NI6T
