Ernie,

Go to File | preferences, then select Ext Data. In data directory show
the path to where you have the QRZ data installed on your hard drive.
>From memory (and I am writing this from the office, not in front of my
shack PC), data source should be set to none, otherwise when you push F3
DX4WIN will only go to your CD drive.

Further if you wish, having hit F3 and the data is received, by then
pushing enter, explorer will open and go directly to QRZ's web site to
give you the latest info., for the station you are searching for. To do
this, check the box "enabled, in Website Callsign Lookup, add the
following addresses:

Callsign look up address: http://www.qrz.com/callsign?qsl=

QSL manager lookup address: http://www.qrz.com/

It works well and I guess saves having to spend money on new CD's from
QRZ??

I hope that this is of use to you!

Subject: [Dx4win] Using QRZ CD rom data from hard drive

Can anybody give me a pointer on how you use the QRZ CD ROM data when it

is installed on the hard drive? The QRZ program functions ok on the hard

drive.

My F3 lookup doesn't seem to work with it pointing to the 'data'
directory on the hard drive. It only works with the CD rom installed.

I have QRZ CDRom as the data source and the path pointing to:
C:\Program Files\QRZ Ham Radio\CALLBK\
Where the data is located.
