Please do have a look at these: http://www.cpcug.org/user/wfeidt/Cis/russia.html http://ve9dx.weblink.nbtel.net/oblasts.html
However, I wonder what is the real QTH for excample for RT9W (RZ9WWH). They are always giving in contest their QTH as CQ zone 17 http://www.his.com/~wfeidt/Misc/cqc2003.html but in fact, as I have understood, they are in zone 16, http://radio.on.ufanet.ru/rw9wa/RDA/base.asc as their oblast is BA, RDA BA-21. I wonder does anyone have a card from these guys and what does it say about their CQ zone. The main difference stems from CQ using geographic boundaries (i.e. rivers, mountains) when definiing their zones, and Russia using oblasts when defining their callsign structure. The two oblasts under discussion are Orenburg (UA9[S,T]) and Bashkortostan (UA9W). From what I can tell, Bashkortostan (UA9W) is indeed Zone 16. Orenburg is in both Zone 16 (UA9S) and Zone 17 (UA9T). Therefore, for the next release of the country database, I will be changing the zone mapping for UA9S and UA9W back to Zone 16 from Zone 17. I do *not* plan on maintaining callsign/zone exceptions for UA9S and UA9W, unless you are willing to do the detailed greographic and geopolitical research to establish the QTH definitely in one CQ zone or the other. That is what the awards checkers would have to do. Might I suggest, however, using a card from some *other* Zone 17 station whose QTH is not in question. 73 - Jim AD1C ===== Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://www.ad1c.com PGP Fingerprint: D8E2 3D78 339F A7F1 8C13 1193 B5D1 4FB6 79D1 70DC From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu May 27 10:53:29 2004 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Duane A Calvin) Date: Thu May 27 10:58:56 2004 Subject: [Dx4win] Orion radio files . . . Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Does anyone know why there are two Orion radio files in 6.03? One is named Orion and the other Orion_x. Both have FSK set to PACTOR rather than what I think would be the much more commonly used RTTY. I forgot do the following step: Labels > Set Upload flags. Answer yes to the prompt "Set Upload Field In Matching Filter". Consider adding this to Jim's (AD1C) "Exporting to LoTW" procedure in sections 1 or 2. I now find all QSO's having a QSL method of "Ignore" do not have their flags set to Y and have a blank upload date. If this field is changed to "Other" will the Upload field be set? If so, how do I make a multiple QSO change to this field? 73 Bud W3LL [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bud Governale" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 26, 2004 11:53 AM Subject: Setting LoTW Upload/Date/Cnf I'm trying to set the Upload and Upl Cnf QSO fields to Y along with an Upload date in 6.03. I entered F8 and chose a group number to select all QSO's from one past callsign. Then I selected Labels > Export for LoTW. Entered a name for the ADIF file and answered yes to the prompt to use active filter. I repeated the above for all other groups in the log. I successfully uploaded to LoTW all ADIF log files after signing and creating TQ8 files. However, Upload and Upl Cnf are marked with N and the Upload date is blank for all QSO's (they are not marked ignore). Since all QSO's were still marked as not uploaded, I tried again. This time I selected F8 and entered 01/01/1901 in the Upload Date, selected Labels>Export for LoTW, named the ADIF file and yes to use the active filter. Still no change in status of Upload, date, Cnf fields for all QSO's. I then tried Labels > Export for LoTW, named the file and exported without an active filter. Again upload still marked N for all QSO's. The Same Call Window has NN marked in the Conf column for all QSO's. What am I missing? 73, Bud W3LL [EMAIL PROTECTED]
