If you read my documents about hardware and software configurations, you 
will see references to a dual comm port & null modem cable arrangement. If 
you are running Windows NT or XP, you can replace that mess with a simple 
piece of free software that functions as a virtual null modem cable.

Since writing those instructions, I have settled on a routine in which I use

MMTTY in stand-alone mode for day-to-day RTTY operations, and enable the 
RTTY feature in DX4WIN for contests.

Keep in mind, of course, that this setup is a bit of a kludge -- the elegant

solution will arrive when Paul inserts true MMTTY integration into DX4WIN --

which he has listed as a future enhancement (no delivery date).
