It's my turn to ask for help: I have a strange problem. I don't get any sounds from needed spots. Yes, the colored ones (am I allowed to say that?).
I have DX4WIN on two computers. Both run WinXP Pro. The ham computer is a PIII (933 MHz and the home office computer is a P4 (3.0 GHz). The home office has an Audigy 2 ZS soundcard and I get the alert sounds just fine. The computer downstairs had a SB Live which NEVER output any alert sounds. I got all the normal Windows sounds, though. The "Packet 1" settings are the same on both boxes. I gave up and replaced the SBLive with a Turtle Beach dedicated to RTTY/PSK. Since I have never connected a speaker to it, I don't know if the alert sounds worked or not. This morning I installed another Audigy 2 ZS in the ham computer (as a second sound card). Windows is using this card for its system sounds (yeah!). But again, no alert sounds from DX4WIN. Anyone know what might be going on?
