Hi Tony,

Instead of printing the submission report, save it. Then edit it yourself in a
plain text editor to list the QSOs in the order you want them.

I will tell you that if you send QSL cards to ARRL, they don't even look at the
printed submission form. It's faster for them to just enter the QSOs from the
QSL cards.

Let say your log is named W4MYA.DXL. It lives in your SAVE directory.

Any time you save (ALT-S, close the log or exit the program), the old W4MYA.DXL
gets written to W4MYA.~XL and the new log is saved as W4MYA.DXL.

Any time the program saves your QSOs automatically (i.e. when the countdown
timer expires), DX4WIN saves them to DX4WIN.DXB in the program (not SAVE)
directory. If there was previously a DX4WIN.DXB there, it first renames that
file to DX4WIN.~XB then saves your QSOs in DX4WIN.DXB.

So in theory, W4MYA.DXL should always be newer/bigger than W4MYA.~XL, and
DX4WIN.DXB should always be newer/bigger than DX4WIN.~XB. If an autosave
occurred, then DX4WIN.DXB will be newer/bigger than W4MYA.DXL. If a second
autosave occurred, then DX4WIN.~XB could be newer/biger than W4MYA.DXL. But it
should NEVER be newer/bigger than DX4WIN.DXB -- the only way this can occur is
if the program did not shut down properly, or you forgot to save your log upon
exiting.

Does this make sense?

Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

A rolling stone gathers no moss. Neither does the DX4WIN country file.

Based on new input from VK3EW and a little more research, I have come up with
more changes for the country file.

Please upgrade to Release 14 ASAP and let me know if other corrections or
omissions are needed.

Allow me to add a caveat to Jim's reply.

Unless you indicate WHICH QSO's you are submitting, ON THE CARD WITH
MULTIPLE QSO's, they will ALL be entered---and you will be charged
accordingly.

I learned this to my sorrow on a large submission made a year ago. It did
not matter that I had carefully prepared a complete listing of the submitted
QSO's according to the submission rules. As Jim points out, the list is not
consulted.

According to Bill Moore, identify the submitted QSO's with a Post-It, tape
or marker pen, right on the card. I had avoided markers to avoid defacing
the card and possibly being dinged for altering them, but Bill insists upon
the identification.
