I noticed a similar problem with YYYY-MM-DD yesterday. I was trying to create an "Import/Export Filter" routine in Cabrillo format, which requires that date template. When the date field template was set for YYYY-MM-DD, the export crashed; when set for any other date template (YYYYMMDD, for example) it worked fine.
