Here's an additional piece of information that may shed some light. If, after the spurious colon appears, I re-type the FIRST two digits of the four-digit 24-hour time entry, it appears and saves correctly. That is, a time like 23:08 has to be entered as 230823. This means I CAN enter QSO's offline, but it appears that the hours and minutes digits are reversed in a weird way.
Is this unique to my installation? Any suggestions? Using ver. 7.01, I have a problem entering a QSO offline. I cannot enter the time! If I tab from the Date box to the Time box and enter the time, upon entering the fourth digit another colon appears and the first digit disappears left. A similar thing occurs if I mouse to the Date box directly. The result is that I cannot enter a QSO offline. Yes, I rebooted the computer--no difference. Garry, NI6T
