I have been using the "Flying Horse" for years and am happy with it. If I need
to, I can access QRZ or Buckmaster on-line.

You do not need to pay "retail", there are other places to get it. I know
GOLIST is one, another might be Bob Nadolny, WB2YQH.

Subject: [Dx4win] F3 UPDATE Button
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I used CTWin for the recent CA QSO Party (CQP). I converted my CT Bin file to
an ADIF file using the CT c2a utility then imported the contest log to DX4WIN.

In looking at my new entries I discovered some of the CA County names did not
get transferred over. For some reason they were not all included in the .adi
files import. This is a separate issue with CT.

Having done the above, I then wished to update my DX4WIN log with the CA County
logged. I opened the F3 window and for each and every CQP QSO I clicked on the
UPDATE QSO button in the F3 window. Is there a way to do this automatically
for each new QSO logged or imported? Having to click on UPDATE QSO in the F3
window several hundred times after importing a state QSO party log is kind of a
pain. To make it worse I discovered DX4WIN was not saving the changes made by
pressing the UPDATE QSO button. I would click the UPDATE QSO button, DX4WIN
would fill in the info, then I would click on the slider to go to the next QSO.
But the changes I just made were not saved. Even by pressing F10 after each
change they were not saved. the only way I could save them was to push UPDATE
QSO the hit ENTER. DX4WIN would ask me if I wanted to save the changes, I
would say yes, then it would save the changes and go to the next QSO. This is
quite an involved, time taking process. Is there a way to make it quicker?

The latest version of C2A should have exported the CA counties correctly. If
it did NOT, contact me off-line and we'll fix it.

Subject: [Dx4win] The <backspace> key in MMTTY versus DX4Win with
        MMTTY-engine
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I have been using MMTTY and DX4Win as stand-alone programs for several
years, and now with the latest DX4Win release supporting MMTTY have started
using the "integrated" version. There seems to be a difference between the
text editor in the transmit window of the MMTTY program itself and in the
MMTTY-engine.

- When using the MMTTY program, pressing the <backspace> key erases
characters from the transmit buffer, and I can correct my typing mistakes.
Typing "TESL<backspace>T" sends "TEST".

- When using DX4Win with the MMTTY engine, pressing the <backspace> key (or
ctrl-H) has no effect on the contents of the transmit buffer, and my
spelling mistakes get transmitted anyway. Typing "TESL<backspace>T" sends
"TESLT".

Is this problem a function of MMTTY or DX4Win? Is there a special key I can
type that will erase characters in the MMTTY-engine editor? (Note that I am
talking about situations in which there are lots of characters stored in the
transmit buffer, not when I am typing into an empty buffer - where the
<backspace> key has no effect in either mode)

Subject: [Dx4win] Discrepancy Between LoTW and Station Log
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Perhaps someone can help me out on this.

I'm getting ready to upgrade my logging software to DX4WIN v. 7, so I'm
bringing my LOTW rtecords up to date.

After doing my latest upload, LoTW shows 4872 QSO's with 727 matches, while I
have only 4092 in DX4WIN. Any ideas?

I had some difficulty with my latest upload which may have contributed to the
problem. Specifically, I attempted to sign only QSO's after the date of my
previous upload--9/25/04, but that did not seem to work. So, I simply signed
my entire .ADI file, and uploaded it. I thought the new file would simply
replace the existing file, but perhpas it produced duplicate records? If so,
is there a way to to search for and delete duplicate records? And if dupes are
the problem, does it matter? Don't only confirmed matches really mattrer? Can
I simply download the 727 matches to DX4WIN v. 7 whhen I install it, and not
worry about the discrepancy?

Thanks and 73!

Subject: [Dx4win] Submission list
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Help guys and gals:

Whenever a log a new contact for a new band, new mode, or even new country, it
does not show in the dxcc submission list in DX4WIN as needed to be sent to the
buro. Although I have made numerous contacts in the last few months, the dxcc
submission list under reports has not changed from the 125 card mark I was at
in early summer. I can't send cards to buro if the reports function does not
tell me which cards to pull.

What did I screw up?

Mel, DX4WIN does not work this way. You can only tell from the Country window
whether you should send for this card.

DXCC Submission status gets updated one of two ways:

- DXCC -> Reports -> Submission

- use the F2 key to confirm a QSO, DX4WIN will tell you if the confirmation
results in a new award credit
