Yes, I have that setup in the shack. It is not stable in that the SteppIR box mis-reads the radio frequency once every few minutes and sends the antenna slewing. The typicall mis-read is in the 50 to 60 mHz range. While I have not proven to myself that the same misread does not occur with Writelog or DXBase 2006, but I have never observed it mis-reading with either of those programs. I am in the process of adding an audio alert to the slewing antenna to continue testing.
This is mis-read does not seem like it should be software program related and will require additional testing to conclude one way or the other. 73s Ken N5TY ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Reisert AD1C" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, August 06, 2006 23:41 Subject: [Dx4win] MicroHam, SteppIR and DX4WIN > Does anyone have a similar configuration running but using DX4WIN instead > of DXBase? > In my case, the radio would be an Orion instead of the Yaesu. > > Thanks & 73 - Jim AD1C > > > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > From: "Joe Subich, W4TV" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Sun, 6 Aug 2006 09:00:45 -0400 > Subject: RE: [microHAM] steppir wye cable > Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > Page 20 of the BigIR manual shows the SteppIR RS-232 "Y" cable: > www.steppir.com/pdf/biggir%20instruction%20manual%2024%20pages.pdf > > I would use that in the CAT line between the microKEYER and the > FT-1000MP.
