Subject: [Dx4win] No Screensaver when DX4WIN is running
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
It's not the screensaver exactly I'm looking for. On my power management
scheme, the display should switch to screensaver after a certain number
of minutes, and then after another defined time, should go into "standby"
mode. Actually, this is very useful on a flat panel because the
fluorescent backlight has a finite lifespan, and spending hours burning
when no one sits in front of it is hours less useful life. With DX4WIN
running as the only application, the system gets into the screensaver
time and then wakes itself back up. I don't use BIOS settings directly,
rather I use the Windows powere management settings (look under Display
Properties | Screen Saver | Monitor Power). Maybe it's a problem in my
setup somewhere - I see Jim noted it is not a problem on two of his
systems, so I need to do some more looking.

Allow me to add my comments, I have DX4WIN running on two XP computers, one
home and one prof. version. Screensaver works fine on both!! Neither is a
lap top!

Has any one else noticed this? When I'm running DX4WIN, the screen never
goes to standby. The screensaver will start running, but eventually it
goes back to full display. Is there something about DX4WIN that is
tricking the keyboard/mouse detect logic to trick Windows XP logic into
thinking someone is actively using the PC? I'd like to get this fixed -
no need to see the screen when I'm out of the room for an hour or two,
but don't want to quit DX4WIN.
