I am having an issue with the RigExpert SD USB interface and DX4WIN. I have the
RigExpert connected between a USB port on my pentium 3.0 ghz running WIndows XP
Home and an FT 1000MP mKV. I finally got all functionality working through
DX4WIN -- PSK31, CW, MMTTY and the FT 1000MP CAT all work great. EXCEPT if I
turn off the FT1000 and then some time later go to the Radio menu of DX4WIN and
start the radio. Blue Screen on Windows. If I start and stop the radio -- same
thing. The Blue screen talks about ks.sys which is the kernal streams driver
used for i/o streams and audio.

The RigExpert only presents one virtual com port and I have it set to COM 8. In
DX4WIN I have the CAT set to COM 8 and the CW interface set to COM 8. I think
here in lies the problem (but I'm not sure). If I disable the CW interface the
issue goes away. But the RigExperrt guys tell me this should support DX4WIN and
all its functionality so apparently I am doing something wrong. Does anyone
know if DX4WIN can use the same comm port for both the CAT interface and the CW
interface or is this an absolute conflict. I think the CW functionality just
uses the DTR pin.

Thanks

Subject: [Dx4win] Sound Card Lock Up
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I had been using my PC, DX4WIN and a Kenwood TS-430 with great success. I have
an MFJ-1279 as the interface.

This week, I switched to an Icom IC-718. I have changed the settings in the
MFJ-1279 and seem to have all the capability I should have. I have been able to
copy PSK signals regularly. However, after the first time I transmit, the sound
card locks up and I have to reboot. I did not have this issue with my TR-4 or
the TS-430.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks and Gud DX

Dear Dave
I had a homemade interface where i used pins 2,3,5 to control the mark v,
pin 7 (rts),5 for ptt and pin 4(dtr),5 for cw keyinf from the same com port.
The general idea had come after reading something simiral for 1000mp in
va3cr web page. No problem at all. Dx4win works perfect. This moment i have
a so2r device (w5xd keyer) and i use this interface like cw keyer only, as
dx4win can't work with w5xd. So i have not tested with the last version
(tested with 6.xx). But i don't believe that there is a problem. I am afraid
that the problem is in Rigexpert virual com program.
