I use a Top Ten Devices DX Doubler box to control two radios in my station. It gets its control for radio selection via pin 14 of the LPT port. When I first installed 7.02 I found that the radio selection function logic was upside down. Radio 2 would be selected when Radio 1 was selected in the DX4WIN control, and vice versa.
With the added WinKey support in 7.02, I was planning to use an external WinKey for QSK keying, so I had set the "Interface" value on the CW tab in the Preferences setup to None. When I set it back to LPT1, the logic reversed, and the radio switching functioned normally. I left it set to LPT1 and had no further problem. I am now in the process of setting up my new microHAM microKEYER, and per the setup instructions for that device, I set the Interface to COM5, the port controlling Radio 1, and configured it for PTT control on the RTS line. The microKEYER requires using PTT control via the COM port to make its switching logic work properly in various modes. The LPT radio select bit was again backwards! After some fooling around with various settings, it is apparent there's a bug in the DX4WIN control logic that makes the sense of the radio select bit correct if and only if the LPT port is also selected as the CW and PTT interface. Any other setting reverses the control bit logic. This is not good, since it means I can't make the microKEYER control the PTT properly for PSK (and probably voice message playback). This bug really needs to be addressed. I don't know if there are any updates afoot, but if so a fix for this one needs to be put in any new release. 73... Randy W8FN
