Hello Oms I bought the micro Ham device.
This does rig interface, CW keying, and I believe supports data modes also, but I haven't used it yet. It's a bit expensive, but it is well made; I bought the lead option also, which is quite heavy duty, and a lot of care is taken to minimise RFI (ferrites fitted as standard) Whether it is important in DX4WIN I am not sure, but the MicroHam also has a PTT control out. The only problem I have found in Writelog, is that if you set PTT control in CW (useful if you want to avoid hot switching, but I never bothered in any other program), the first character in CW sometimes gets corrupted. I believe it is a timing problem in the MicroHam. I turned off PTT control altogether, all is fine. Haven't checked this when using DX4Win, but I expect the problem will be the same. 73 Dave G3NKC -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of PY5EG Sent: 18 February 2006 10:27 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'; [email protected] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Dx4win] NEW COMPUTERS USB INTERFACE Hi Friends: I'm a frequent user of DX4WIN and Writelog interfaced by old lap tops with COM ports ,sending CW by LPT1. Some of those lap tops are in the end of its lives. I have the intention to use newest version of lap tops, and all of them with USB ports and some without a parallel port LPT. I'm sure that several of you already faced this problem before and I kindly ask your opinion on what is the best existent solution for it. Thanks in advance Oms PY5EG -- Esta mensagem foi verificada pelo sistema de antiv?rus e acredita-se estar livre de perigo. _______________________________________________ Dx4win mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
