The ICOM radio protocol does not send the SPLIT status to the logging software. This has been true for many years, and seems will continue for many years. Kenwood and Yaesu do not have this limitation. Some software, like CT and Writelog, have a command to send a split command to the radio, so the software can keep track of split itself.
