Jim, Solved it: I was trying to assign the RTTY port (COM7) in the DX4Win MMTTY window (alt-S). That is not needed as the port is opened by MMTTY. Works OK now.
Still wondering why the RTTY control window (waterfall and scope) does not stay on top if any other window is activated (I have to click the task panel to bring it visible). However, when DX4Win is minimized, the RTTY control window stays on top of the application window below (like Outlook). Not a big issue but I think it should not behave like this.
