[Dx4win] Log

I screwed up last night and turned the computer off before it was 
done saving and have lost the log. I have a 2 month old backup but 
wonder if there is a way to recover the original one. I see there is 
a file with the same name and date but a .~xls and wondered if that 
was some kind of hidden back up or what   Ideas?
