Cannot seem to get DX4win to handshake with the internet via the packet window in DX4win. When i right click the mouse in the packet window and go to the available INTERNET sites, I cannot get any of the sites to come up. the entire window stays empty. It was working great for years, but now nothing happens.
Is there something I am missing. This is not a new installation. The program worked great up until this weekend. Might be Gremlins. ANY SUGGESTIONS. mEL K2AT From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jan 24 13:39:06 2007 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Lee Hallin) Date: Wed Jan 24 13:41:09 2007 Subject: [Dx4win] DX4Win interfacing with internet In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi Mel, Do you have a Firewall running that could be preventing access to the Internet via DX4WIN? 73, Lee N7NU From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jan 24 13:39:19 2007 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Jim Reisert AD1C) Date: Wed Jan 24 13:41:10 2007 Subject: [Dx4win] Apro Exception In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --- Steve GW4BLE <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Trying to configure DX4WIN for internet connection and get an "Exception has > occurred" and "Apro exception", any idea what that may refer to and how it > can be cured? Hi Steve, It sounds like DX4WIN is blocked by your PC firewall. It can't get a numerical IP address from DNS to connect to. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://www.ad1c.us From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Jan 25 09:45:41 2007 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (George) Date: Thu Jan 25 09:47:38 2007 Subject: [Dx4win] AUTO_WRITE_LOG_FILE Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Now that I have a operating automatic log backup utility, COBIAN, that works and is easy to set up I'd like to get DX4WIN to write the QSO information each time I modify my log and get away from doing a "alt-S". Can this be set up within DX4WIN? No George. But there is a backup mechanism, and you can set the interval as low as 1 minutes. Got the QSO tab in Preferences. Make sure you backup software is backing up: DX4W###/DX4WIN.DXB which is the backup of your log - it's in the directory one up from the SAVE directory. You can also backup these files: DX4W###/DX4WIN.~XB DX4W###/SAVE/<yourcall>.~XL 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://www.ad1c.us From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Jan 25 18:26:58 2007 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Dieter Schuster) Date: Thu Jan 25 18:28:58 2007 Subject: [Dx4win] multiple Award tracking Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> .........let's say W1XYZ holds a Ten Ten Number, a DIG-Number and was operating from some special lighthouse. So he would be eligible for at least 3 different custom awards. The value field will accept only one value and skip the first entry when I key in the second one. So the question is: Does DX4WIN simply allow only one custom award to be tracked? Or is there any trick to track ultiple awards? 73 de Dieter, DL8OH
