Hi Jim... I downloades the MS Visual Studio and checked the fonts in control panel....no Consolas. I downloaded the Consolas file and it appeared in control panel and I was able to use it in DX4Win. It didn't seem to display well on my LCD monitor. I like the default Fixedsys better. BTW, I'm running Win 2000 Pro. Are you heading for CO permanantly? 73, Roger -- Remember the USS Liberty (AGTR-5) http://ussliberty.org/ From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue May 15 17:56:17 2007 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Chuck Lewis) Date: Tue May 15 18:04:18 2007 Subject: [Dx4win] Consolas font - an experiment References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Jim, Last night, after an unsuccessful attempt to load Consolas fonts (no Visual Studio) I searched Google for "Consolas" and found a suggestion that Microsoft.Net Framework might serve to support Consolas, and sure enough, it did. I went to the Microsoft update site and let it search for available updates for my machine (XP SP2). I chose "Microsoft.Net Framework", downloaded and installed it (go get a cup of coffee) and tried downloading Consolas again, this time with success. So there's at least one other viable approach! 73, Chuck, N4NM ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Reisert AD1C" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2007 3:16 PM Subject: [Dx4win] Consolas font - an experiment > Can someone who does *NOT* have Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 installed > (but > does preferably have Windows XP installed) please try the following > experiment? > I just don't have time to try it myself. > > Download and install one of these packages: > > http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/downloads/ > > They are free (limited) versions of Microsoft Visual Studio. > > After installation, see if the Consolas font is available to DX4WIN.
