I would like to set up the CW keyboard function in DX4WIN (ver.7) but
have not been successful so far.

My radio is a Kenwood TS480SAT and I have a serial port connection
from the computer which is functioning properly, using a USB to serial
port adapter.

I operate both psk31 and MTTY which are interfaced from the computer
sound card to the digital input jack on the radio. I key the
transmitter with VOX.

I have read the DX4WIN Help info and have tried different combinations
of Setup Parameters in the Preferences>CW window but none will key the
radio from the keyboard.

Is there an easy way to do this or do I have to set up a second com
port and connect it directly to the key jack on the radio?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Doug VE3JDF

After you have worked the contest and have 500+ contacts to import,
here is something fun to do. Most contest loggers don't give very good
detail breakdowns on what countries, bands, states you worked during the
contest.
Always how many, but not what!
Just import the ADIF file as a NEW log and DX4WIN will break the
contest log down every which way you can think....What states did I miss
on what band? How many band/mode countries did I work?
Fun Stuff....Then import the ADIF into your main DX4WIN log...
This also makes it easy to go back to a particular contest, such as
ARRL-DXCW-2008 as you have it saved as a DX4WIN log file.
Saves on the Group Names too...

ps; I have imported contest files with over 6000 Q's for a single contest
and the stats DX4WIN gives are instant and great...

Bring up any one of your QSOs for VP6DX. In the QSO window click once on
the Prefix box, hit F1 and select Ducie Island from the list of countries
sorted alphabetically. Hit enter and then save the QSO. Once you have done
this for one of your QSOs for VP6DX, all of your QSOs with VP6DX will now
show Ducie Island instead of Pitcairn Is.
