No, you're not the only one. I think the problem is that it's "Saint
Barthelemy" in DX4WIN but "St. Barthelemy" in the spreadsheet.

This will require a program change, but I don't have the time to fix it right
now. Adding the FJ QSO into the Marathon spreadsheet manually is the easiest
way.

Subject: [Dx4win] LOTW
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

See all the posts on LOTW I decided to get on board with the upload flags
and upload confirm, etc. I have run into two problems, both puzzlers.

First Problem

So I downloaded the report and uploaded it into DX4WIN and I discovered a
group of QSO's that DX4WIN did not match. After first I thought it was a
contest log I forgot to load in but upon research the QSO's are in the log
and the downloaded file has the QSO's.

The group of QSO's are from Aug NAQP SSB. Both my log and the download
report has them as SSB or Phone QSO's. The interesting part is the NOT FOUND
Report that was produced has each of these QSO's as a RTTY QSO.

I think I found the source of the problem. All of these QSO's in the LOTW
file have the MODE as PHONE. All my other phone Q's in the file as SSB. SO
DX4WIN is interpreting PHONE as RTTY it appears.

I'll also have to contact LOTW to see one that one group of contacts is
marked PHONE instead of SSB like all the others of the Mode type.

Now that I've figure it out I can get things to work, just reporting this in
case there is something to fix in DX4WIN.

Second Problem

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, the QSO defaults are not being
set for new QSO's other than Group on imports.

Under Defaults for new QSO I have QSL Method set to DIRECT and Lable set to
Upl. When I upload a file those items are not set per the default, yet the
Group number is set.

So what am I doing wrong?

BTW, when I add QSO real-time or off-line those default items to get set
properly.

Thanks for any help.

Phil,

You should find Windows Explorer under Accessories on the Start menu.
Open Windows Explorer and navigate as follows by left clicking on each
of these in the left window:
My Computer
Local Disk C:
Program files
DX4W703 (or whichever version you are using)
Save

Hold down the Ctrl key and in the right window and left click on
w3gt.dxl and DX4WIN.cty

Now right click on either of these two files and you should get a drop
down menu that includes "Copy"
Left click on "Copy"

Now go to the left window and you should see either your floppy drive
(A:) if you have one or a CD or DVD drive (probably D:).
Right click on the one you want to use.
You will get a drop down menu that includes "Paste".
Left click on "Paste".
Insert a disk and you should be OK.
If the "Paste" option is greyed out, go back to the Save folder
instruction above and carefully repeat this procedure from there.

You will have backed up your country file and qso file to the disk you
chose which is all you need in case of a problem.
Do this periodically on a regular schedule to be safe.

PHONE is not a valid ADIF mode. SSB is, however. See:

   http://www.adif.org/adif219.htm#Mode%20Enumeration

Easiest workaround is to edit the lotwreport ADIF file and change:

   <MODE:5>PHONE to <MODE:3>SSB

Hi Bill,

It's an import bug. The upload flag/labels preference isn't being obeyed on
imported QSOs, only new QSOs. Paul is aware of the problem. It will be fixed.

Subject: [Dx4win] DX4WIN.CTY Release #46 - third call
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hi Folks,

I updated the release notes for DX4WIN.CTY Release #46 again:

     http://www.country-files.com/dx4win/history.htm#46

I hope to release the new country file next weekend (January 19/20).

PLEASE... if you know of any callsign exceptions in your log that are
NOT correct in the latest released country file, please get the
information to me as soon as possible (call, date, entity). Please try
to confirm with a QSL first. Thanks to several of you who I have been
working with to update the country file - your input is appreciated!
