Hi Folks,
I updated the release notes for DX4WIN.CTY Release #46 one last time:
http://www.country-files.com/dx4win/history.htm#46
I'm sorry I did not get this release out last weekend, but I do plan to release
it this weekend, January 26-27.
PLEASE... if you know of any callsign exceptions in your log that are
NOT correct in the latest released country file, please get the
information to me as soon as possible (call, date, entity). Please try
to confirm with a QSL first. Thanks to several of you who I have been
working with to update the country file - your input is appreciated!

Subject: [Dx4win] DXCC Reports
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
I have not really been active. I have casually chased DX and have not updated
DXCC since I got my first DXCC (one of the first local field checkers). I have
decided to get up to date. I copied the ARRL DXCC Grid Report and printed that.
I have also printed the DX4WIN DXCC report including deleted...
I understand the deleted being sorted at the end. I do NOT understand why
Country names do not match? Prefixes do not match? and the sort order is not
the same?
Here is a couple of examples:
DX4WIN V 7.03.16 ARRL
E7 Bosnia & Herzegovina T9 Bosnia & Herzegovina
HL South Korea HL,DS Republic of Korea
For Credit to Jim & DX4WIN,
The FJ is in DX4WIN and not in the DXCC grid!!
ARRL does not include the /letter in their grid!
There a many others, I just added the ones that stood out quickly.
So far, I am still muddling along!!
Can some one shed some light?

DX4WIN prefixes were chosen to match the DXCC Award Credit Listing.
This would make it easier for people to hand-compare their DX4WIN
reports with the report they received from ARRL. See these release notes:
http://www.country-files.com/dx4win/history.htm#4
Subsequent to those changes, I wrote a program to compare the DXCC Award
Credit Matrix from the ARRL LoTW site with DX4WIN.
Prefixes are changing, i.e. E7 will replace T9. E5 has already replaced
ZK2.
The country names should be obvious. In some cases, DX4WIN reflects the
legal country name (for a while, ARRL said Ivory Coast when the real
name was Cote du Ivoire).
I have written to the ARRL DXCC Desk several times over the last several
years regarding the differences between the printed ARRL DXCC List (and
rules, that you can purchase from ARRL) and the award credit listing. I
don't know that their on-line DXCC list (www.arrl.org/awards/dxcc)
completely matches either. Bill has always told me that they're working
to bring them into alignment, but it's an on-going process.
If you can't figure out something, just ask!

Sorry, typo. E5 replaced ZK1, not ZK2. ZK2 is still Niue as always.

Subject: [Dx4win] Labels without manager
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Hi all
Since many stations worked during my latest expedition will be
requesting their cards directly, not through their managers when they
have one, I have decided not to print the manager on the labels.
While trying to view the prints, I realize that, despite the manager is
not printed, the labels will appear in the list as if it was printed.
EA8AK for example shows along with the W's (his manager is W3HNK)
Is there a way to totally ignore the manager in this case ? So that, in
my example, EA8AK shows with the EA8s, not the W3s ?
Thanks for any hint on this.
