Larry, is it the real-time format or the SH/DX format that's broken? If you
connect to a CC Cluster node (like N5IN-2 or VE7CC-1), it should work.

Subject: [Dx4win] DX4WIN problems controlling radio and rotor
References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I have two questions for the experts here on the list. I'm new to DX4Win so
my questions may seem basic to some.

1. Is anyone on the list using an Alfa-Spid rotor controlled by DX4Win? If
so, what settings are being used?
Seems I can't get this to function at all. No response from the controller
at all. I've tried the settings for Orion, Yaesu and DCU-1 with no luck.
Incidently, I am using a "real" com port (com1) and not using a USB to
serial convertor. I have also adjusted com port settings in Windows
hardware settings to match settings for above rotor controllers and I
believe the controller is fine as it works with another logging program
using same port just swell.

2. Is anyone controlling a SteppIR antenna using the SteppIR Y-cable with a
1000MP? The radio control seems to work fine but the antenna controller
appears to "read" the wrong frequency from time-to-time and start to adjust
to a wierd frequency like 35.055Mhz then "reads" the correct operating freq.
on the next polling cycle and goes back to the original radio freq.
(14.195Mhz e.g.). I've tried most if not all combinations of DTR, RTS and
polling settings with no luck. Again, as above no USB (com2) and I don't
suspect the SteppIR controller as it works perfectly using another logging
program.

If anyone has had either of these problems and knows a solution, I would be
much obliged.

Thanks,
Brad - N8SNM
