you can rename the xe1-g3svd.~xl to xe1-g3svd-backup.dxl
See this file if it has some of your qsos.
I don't believe that you can do something else.
If this happened agn try copy your license file (g3svd.key) agn in dx4win directory while dx4win is open. Dx4win will see the file then. This bug has happen to me also and if i remember well that was what i had done.
Sorry for the missed qsos. I know it is hard... 73

HELP!

I am operating from XE1 at the moment and have had a log for my operations here set up as xe1-g3svd for the past 10 years. Today I opened up the log as usual (it seemed) and was operating nearly all day on 6m and worked in excess of 40 US stations. From time to time I had to close down the laptop due to power outages or thunder storms and the restart when the problem was over, seemed as usual. Each time I did this I clicked on SAVE in the FILE menu. However when I decided to finally close down for the day I tried to save the log only to get the message "demo version your log cannot be saved"! No way is it a demo version, I clicked on OK hoping to go back to the log but it just closed down and when I started it up again all today's contacts had gone, everything up to a 20m qso I had yesterday is in the log OK but nothing from today. Is there anywhere that these qsos could be hiding away. In the SAVE directory I have two files xe1-g3svd.~xl and xe1-g3svd.dxl. I have not been able to open them and have not tried too hard as I dont want to make matters worse. Could either of these have the information I want?
