Hi Folks,

On the DX4WIN download page, Paul writes:

Installation instructions for Windows Vista:

[...]

1. Start the installation program, dx4w705.exe, with a right mouse click and
select ‘run as Administrator’

2. Install DX4WIN in the root directory of your C drive, c:\dx4w705 (not the
proposed Program Files\dx4w705 directory)

3. If you do not need printer port access for CW via LPT, a band decoder etc.
you can start DX4WIN from the program menu. You will get a warning that some
driver cannot be copied.

4. If you need access to the LPT port, start DX4WIN as an Administrator.
(Select DX4WIN, right mouse click, Run as Administrator.) You will have to do
this every time you start DX4WIN.

In my previous experience with Vista (my login account had Administrator
privileges), running as Administrator is not necessary in step #1 above. And
step #4 above is only needed the first time, in order to copy the LPT driver.
Subsequent times, you don't need to do this.

Is that true for anyone else, or are all the steps above required, as written?
