There's probably a simple answer, but I can't find it. I'm running version 7.05.04 in Windows 2000NT on a replacement computer (after a drive failure). I had been running CW using the parallel port. Now when DX4win starts, it gives an error message "can't find LPT1 for CW". I have set CW thru LPT1 in File/Preferences. I'm using Com1 for radio control (IC-756 ProII) and it functions OK. Windows Device Manager says LPT1 is functioning OK. The address is 0378 - 037F and it is using IRQ 7. I have a second printer port on an expansion card. It is set as LPT2 (FED8 - FEDF, IRQ9). If I change the Preferences setting to LPT2 for CW, I get a "can't find LPT2 for CW" error. Device manager says that this port is also functioning OK.

I also run N1MM on this computer with the same interface cables. When I start up N1MM with LPT1 selected for CW it works fine! N1MM keys the radio properly. But if I close N1MM (and even shut down the computer and re-boot), DX4Win "can't find LPT1 for CW". I looked in the manual but couldn't find anything to help. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.
