I do about 40 contests a year so that adds up to a lot of contests and by now would require hundreds of groups. Instead of groups I put the contest name in the notes field and can filter on that field if necessary. Another option is to filter on the date of the contest. But in reality if I need to see data from a specific contest I go back to the original Writelog file which is much easier. Don VE3XD

Some others have recommended other approaches because they use groups for contest. I guess you could still do that with additional groups for the contests. One for VE3XD and one for VE3XD/W4. I also have a group for my old callsign VE3BUC and a few other groups for temporary callsigns I've used for special events.. There are over 100,000 Qs in my DX4WIN log and this approach works very well. 73, Don VE3XD _____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mark Williams Sent: January-28-09 2:31 PM To: DX4WIN Reflector Subject: [Dx4win] Two QTHs As a new DX4WIN user, I was wondering the best approach to using the program from two different QTH. They are 100 miles appart and I'd like to keep the activity separate. Is this an appropriate use of Groups or jsut separate log files? 73, Mark KF6YU
