The only time I have encountered "Thread errors" are with COM port misconfiguration... however you encountered an error when attempting to write the file so it might be an IO error. You don't mention which OS you were using. Without more information it is hard to guess at the problem... but I certainly would scan the disk for errors before suspecting mores esoteric causes. If you are using an external drive or a networked drive there are other possibilities.
regarding the "Demo bug"... this has existed in earlier versions... it's not likely to get fixed in ver 7 because Paul has been unable to duplicate and track it down. We can only hope it disappears or is mitigated in ver 8. Regarding the cause... I don't know... but since the "Demo bug" is very rare, it might be triggered by other errors... so fix the I/O problem first.
