Hi Paul, Any interest in buying the assets?
:-) I used DXbase at one time, but only the DOS version. It might have been my 2nd logging program, PAYL DXLog being the first. DXbase was cutting-edge at the time, but the one thing that annoyed me was having to constantly re-index to get updated award status, etc. I found the Windows versions(s) intimidating, and being a programmer myself, that says something. It's sad to see something like this close up shop, but based on lack of upgrades, as well as Dayton attendance (or lack thereof), it's not all that surprising. Finally, for those of you waiting for DX4WIN version 8, I can report that Paul is anxious to release it, and we're just getting the final documentation updated. In fact, it might be the first time I've ever read the manual cover-to-cover (all 205 pages), and I learned a lot about the program in doing so, even though I have been using it over 10 years! 73 - Jim AD1C On Sun, Aug 2, 2009 at 9:20 AM, Mel<[email protected]> wrote: > From: Jack > To: dxbase at mailman.qth.net > Sent: Friday, July 31, 2009 11:52 AM > Subject: [Dxbase] Farewell > > Effective today, we have discontinued the sale of DXbase and we have > taken steps to close Scientific Solutions, Inc. -- Jim Reisert AD1C, <[email protected]>, http://www.ad1c.us ______________________________________________________________ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
