Just a couple of comments.
Point 1: I managed to transfer frequency information from the 'Notes for this QSO' column of V7 absolutely perfectly, in that all data was neatly and correctly arranged into the frequency column in V8. In every QSO in my log, since moving from a wonderful old program WJ2O, that never made it into the Windows environment, frequency information came first. Then followed other, general, QSO information. Unfortunately, some of this additional information that was also in the 'Notes for this QSO' column was 'scrunched up' (explanation - some additional information was also taken from the 'Notes' column in V7, along with the frequency information, but never made it to anywhere in V8) and, apparently, 'lost' in the transition, which would have made a huge job requirement for me to manually edit what information was left in the 'Notes' to correct (or tidy up) the problem created. I will leave this to a future day, but will probably never update frequency info on my old QSOs, just start from now, as I much prefer to retain my 'Notes' info neatly, correctly and fully. Point 2: Like, it seems, many others, I wrote the contacts name and QTH in the 'Notes for this Call' box in V7, separated by one space. It was neat and effective. But, as we now know, not transferable unless you make so many 'contortional' movements' that you risk losing sight of what you are doing, and if I read the reflector comments correctly, even then it doesn't work 100%, which for me means 'don't do it at all'. I have the information still there in V8, albeit now in the wrong box, but again I will not risk losing, or distorting my hard collected information just for the sake of transferring t5he information - like in point 1 above, I shall start from my next QSO to place name and QTH in the new boxes. For the first time in my life, I think I was smart, in that several of the update features, like the above, I actually tried on a separate computer, with full copies of everything available to me - thus when I did the actual update on my 'live' data, I did not 'mess' anything up! Bottom line - I thought the upgrade from V6 to V7 was a non-event for me, because MMTTY never worked for me anywhere near as well as MixW (and then simply transferring QSO information via ADI file) did, and I like MixW much better anyway, but V8 has some excellent features, and is well worth the few dollars I spent to upgrade. Paul - job well done, and thank you for your efforts.
