I just checked the ADIF site and it only enumerates mode AMTORFEC. AMTOR Mode A is not using FEC, it detects framing errors and requests repeats, therefore AMTOR is definitely *NOT* AMTORFEC. Also, as you pointed out, AMTORFEC is not a valid mode for LotW. I have never even heard of calling AMTOR AMTORFEC... Somebody is confused... and it isn't me ;-)
