No, I don't need PTT. I can use PowerSDR's break-in mode as I do for the iambic 
paddles. However I
tried eliminating PTT from the equation and I'm still not getting the keyline 
through. DX4WIM's CW
keyboard is acting like a code practice oscillator.

I know that both PTT and keyline interfaces can work. I connected DX4WIN 8.02 
to my other Rig, a
TS-850 with a RigExpert interface. This uses COM2 for CAT and COM4 for 
PTT/Keyline, both of which
are USB ports in the RigExpert interface. This works perfectly.
